В Министерстве обороны Российской Федерации принято решение о наборе курсантов в военные образовательные учреждения высшего профессионального образования.

Данный шаг имеет большое значение для Вооруженных Сил. Перерыв в наборе курсантов в течение 4 лет создал своеобразную «демографическую прореху» в кадровом составе офицерского корпуса, которая будет ощущаться в течение многих лет. Прервался процесс передачи практического опыта молодым офицерам, нарушилась преемственность в обновлении кадрового потенциала.

Набор в вузы в 2019 году возрождает систематическую подготовку офицеров. Там же помещены условия поступления и требования к кандидатам, поступающим в высшие военно-учебные заведения.
